In Heaven…

Every child is safe.
Every child
is loved.
Every child
is valued.
Every child
has a home.
Every child
has a family.

Let it be on earth as it is in Heaven.

9 CHILDREN A DAY

are removed from their homes due to abuse, abandonment and neglect in the Tampa Bay Area and Suncoast Region.

There are over 3,000 children ages 0-17 year olds currently in foster care in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.

The church has the responsibility to care for orphans and widows

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Will you join the movement to make it on earth as it is in Heaven?

  • Our vision at A Door of Hope is to provide a Christian home for every child in crisis.

Your first step to learning more about fostering with zero obligation is attending one of our Information Sessions which are held online and in person. During this session, we will give more insight to what the foster care crisis looks like in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. We will also help you understand what this calling entails both from a physical/emotional aspect as well as a spiritual aspect.

There is no cost and no obligation – it is simply the first step in your journey to discover more about Biblical foster care.

    1. Complete an interest form on our website.

    2. Attend an info session held on Zoom or in person at churches across the Greater Tampa Bay area.

    3. Complete our 24 hour professional parenting foster care classes.

    4. Have a home study and background checks completed

    5. Become a licensed foster parent and have children placed in your home, preferably within 100 days of your first professional parenting class.

  • In order to become a foster parent with A Door of Hope, you must be:

    • at least 21 years old
    • have a permanent residency (renting or owning; no RV/hotel residency)
    • pass local criminal, federal criminal and abuse registry background screenings (for all adults and children 12 and up in the home)
    • if married, be married for at least one year (pssst! you don’t have to be married to be a foster parent!)
    • have a desire to live out The Gospel

  • We know not everyone is called to foster, but we do believe that as a Christian, we have a part in caring for foster children. Here are some ways that you can get involved with A Door of Hope:

    • You can help us cover the financial cost to license a family
    • You can become an A Door of Hope volunteer
    • You can join our team of prayer warriors
    • You, your business or your church can host a family support event
